			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I was warned enough moving in Germany is not easy. I am not really sure it&#8217;s only in Germany or overall in Europe. Here&#8217;s a story about moving I made recently in Germany. It is a domestic move.</p>
<p>Unlike other countries, moving in Germany is demanding. This is because of a difference specifically with a kitchen installation. Although there are apartments with kitchen installed, it is still rare to find apartments with kitchen installed. You sort out nice candidate apartments by good locations, good neighbor, and so on and easily face the situation with no kitchen installed. This is exactly what happened to me.</p>
<p>I used to live in a furnished apartment that gave me many things automatic for living. I could not choose another furnished one for some reasons. So, I had to install kitchen all by myself. Thanks to a friend with experience, we decided to do all these things.</p>
<p>Before taking any action, I had some things on the list as</p>
<ol>
<li>Time should be minimized so that I can get back to my primary job.</li>
<li>An oven and a dish washer should be built in Kitchen cabinets.</li>
</ol>
<p>My wife and I went to IKEA to buy some cabinets used for some frames and Saturn to shop some electrical kitchen appliances, and to OBI to shop some water hoses and hardware tools such as electrical drills and saw.</p>
<p>Reading a manual by a manual of IKEA&#8217;s, we were able to assemble them. This was in fact the easiest part compared to sawing and drilling concrete wall to have some screws in to hang other cabinets. Surely, I needed to know how to connect hoses for hot and cold water, how to connect special oven wires properly, and how to saw a about-more-than-five-centimeter-thick-plate accurately to have a stainless steel sink, one water faucet, and oven top nicely fit. All of these were again learning it by doing it. Haibing, my friend, really helped me a lot. But, there were so many things that I had to remember such as sizes of diameters, what kind or size of drills I had to buy and use to make holes on woods, concrete or metals.</p>
<p>Anyhow, all are done by the amateurs. I found myself to pay special attention to the installed kitchens or other furnitures assembled somewhere else after all these. A very challenging and painful experience, though. It was exciting enough.</p>
<p>Yes, right. If you like moving in Germany, you gotta be a PLUMBER, a ELECTRICIAN, and a CARPENTER.</p>
<p></p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Following the first post of <a href="http://www.nbeyond.net/good-debt-yen-carry-trade/">Good Debt</a>, I have collected some data about Yen value against US dollar. Check out this long-term fluctuation over past 37 years.</p>
<p align="center"><div class="ngg-singlepic-wrapper"><a href="http://www.nbeyond.net/wp-content/gallery/misc/YenLongTerm.png" title="" class="thickbox" rel="singlepic12" ><img class="ngg-singlepic" src="http://www.nbeyond.net/wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/nggshow.php?pid=12&amp;width=400&amp;height=240&amp;mode=watermark" alt="YenLongTerm.png" title="YenLongTerm.png" /></a></div>
<p align="center">Overall, Japanese Yen has gotten stronger starting 1971</p>
<p>If you look at the recent data over last three years, the value of Yen kept dropping. One thing additionally important is that the value of the US dollar has also been plunging against Euro but not as much as Yen.</p>
<p align="center"><div class="ngg-singlepic-wrapper"><a href="http://www.nbeyond.net/wp-content/gallery/misc/YenLastThreeYears.png" title="" class="thickbox" rel="singlepic13" ><img class="ngg-singlepic" src="http://www.nbeyond.net/wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/nggshow.php?pid=13&amp;width=400&amp;height=240&amp;mode=watermark" alt="YenLastThreeYears.png" title="YenLastThreeYears.png" /></a></div>
<p align="left">US Dollar is now even at a humiliating level against Euro. In other words, mighty Euro. This is just an observation for what happened in the past. Nobody wants to keep Yen. Instead, many want to borrow Yens and exchange them to other better valued currency. Just by doing this, they can earn as much of the interest difference and the value of the exchanged currency.</p>
<p align="left">&nbsp;</p>
<ul>
<li>What if this lower valued Yen against US dollar stops on a sudden?</li>
<li>What if Yen is getting strong back as used be?</li>
<li>Who are now paying this price because of the low valued Yen?</li>
<li>Who are getting benefits thanks to the zero percent interest rate?</li>
</ul>
<p align="left">&nbsp;</p>
<p align="left">Answers for these questions are easily found from daily newspapers. These answers are thinkable and subject to personal belief. Do you see any chance to make a use of this phenomenon?</p>
<p></p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I did make a comment about debt very beginning in the first post, <a href="http://www.nbeyond.net/a-simple-math-and-beyond-dose-it-really-work/">A simple math and beyond - Does it really work?</a>. In the post, I quoted as</p>
<blockquote><p>I have reached to the conclusion that there is no good or bad debt. Some define the debt that is tax-deductible to be good and the debt that is non-tax-deductible to be bad. Unless the debt is given to you for example from your parent at a truly zero interest rate, every debt is bad.</p></blockquote>
<p>According to the quote that assumes conversely that if debt is at zero percent interest rate, the money you borrow is GOOD debt by definition of the quote. Then, the following question is</p>
<p><strong>Who is going to lend you money with no gain (No interest rate)? </strong></p>
<p>nbeyond said to the question in the post: <strong>Maybe your family</strong></p>
<p>This means virtually nobody will lend you money for no gain. This is wrong. In Japan, there is no interest rate if you put your money in your saving account. The banks will just hold your money and not return any gain for your deposit. This means if you put your money, in this case Japanese Yen, in the bank, you automatically lose your money as time goes on. This makes Japanese financial policy very weird. But, this is what has been happening last a couple of years, what&#8217;s happening now, and what will happen for some time coming. How long? I&#8217;d like to say that nobody knows it.</p>
<p style="text-align: center"><img src="http://www.japanorama.com/images/10000yen.gif" height="455" width="465" /></p>
<p align="center">If you have credit or means to borrow this Japanese Yen, you don&#8217;t have to pay any interest at all</p>
<p>In summary, there exists <strong>Good Debt</strong> by definition for the time that this article is written. On the second thought, you must be stupid if you keep Yen. Is this right? </p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Continuing from the article <a href="http://www.nbeyond.net/nature-to-stand-out-part-i/">nature to stand out? - part I</a>, I&#8217;d like to talk more about the second world in details on this post. For your recap about <a href="http://www.nbeyond.net/nature-to-stand-out-part-i/">the previous article</a>, the second world has more standing-out tendency than the blue world (the first world), because it has a wider range of colors than mere blue. This may represent a variety of heterogeneity that one may experience in his or her life. If we all are on our own vehicles moving at the same speed in the same route, we do not even need any race, because we all arrive at the same time.</p>
<p>In contrast to the blue world, this is not true in the second world. Although we have same vehicles, each road has ups and downs or some dead ends so that we have to go backward to make it right and try other alternative routes. Thus, there are good chances that you may make a mistake or keep making mistakes in your life, which to make it simple here is a race.</p>
<p>Let&#8217;s look at these individuals described as a whole bunch of red dots in the figure. This is a snap shot taken in the middle of the race happening in the second world.</p>
<p align="center"><div class="ngg-singlepic-wrapper"><a href="http://www.nbeyond.net/wp-content/gallery/science/particles.png" title="" class="thickbox" rel="singlepic10" ><img class="ngg-singlepic" src="http://www.nbeyond.net/wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/nggshow.php?pid=10&amp;width=400&amp;height=400&amp;mode=watermark" alt="particles.png" title="particles.png" /></a></div>
<p align="center">Red dots are us taking journey in the second world, a world with diversity</p>
<p>Maybe because some are lucky or just capable of going fast, these red dots are not aligned with a horizontal line where they started their race. Some go faster than others. Some are efficient and another are less efficient or may not be interested in this race at all. Some may be trapped in dead zones and keep making decisions that keep trapping them in the dead zones. Here&#8217;s a more detailed description zoomed in the race.</p>
<p align="center"><div class="ngg-singlepic-wrapper"><a href="http://www.nbeyond.net/wp-content/gallery/science/paths.png" title="" class="thickbox" rel="singlepic11" ><img class="ngg-singlepic" src="http://www.nbeyond.net/wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/nggshow.php?pid=11&amp;width=300&amp;height=400&amp;mode=watermark" alt="paths.png" title="paths.png" /></a></div>
<p align="center">Paths that some standing-out racers prefer</p>
<p>If you look at this figure, you can clearly see the gray bold thick arrows preferred by some outstanding individuals. They simply go faster by taking the faster paths, in which they may enjoy freewheeling downhill or are capable of finding short and fast cuts. This second world clearly shows the tendency of &#8220;<strong>Standing Out from the crowd.</strong>&#8221;<br />
</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>When I first heard about creating random numbers in one of the courses in math department many years ago, I could see some passion from the professor explaining about.</p>
<blockquote><p>What&#8217;s so fascinating about generating random numbers? He must be acting&#8230;.</p></blockquote>
<p>This is exactly what I thought back then. Random numbers are random numbers. Just computer generated. As the course went on, I started to see the power of creating random numbers if we can create so many in a very short time. This may sound very strange though. This is somewhat true if you think this way.</p>
<p style="text-align: center">&nbsp;</p>
<p style="text-align: center"><img src="http://www1.istockphoto.com/file_thumbview_approve/2512836/2/istockphoto_2512836_coin_flip.jpg" title="Flipping a coin is exactly same to create random numbers. The question is how fast you can flip the coin." alt="Flipping a coin is exactly same to create random numbers. The question is how fast you can flip the coin." height="273" width="180" /></p>
<p style="text-align: center">Flipping a coin is exactly same to create random numbers. The question is how fast you can flip the coin.</p>
<p style="text-align: center">&nbsp;</p>
<p>If you think each random number as each individual like a human, creating so many random numbers in a short time can mean we can create so many individuals that live their own lives in a very short time. In other words, <strong>so many generation simulation in a very short time</strong>. Just imagine thousands of generations and how the generation changes generation by generation. This is undoable in reality because time goes so slow and we live very short time but very much doable if we make random numbers individual-like and have a power to create so many random numbers in a short time using computers.</p>
<p><strong>What for?</strong></p>
<p>A random number is a random number not a human. How can you think like that?</p>
<p>Yes, it is a number. Just think about why we flip a coin? Maybe to be fair! Why should it be fair? The meaning of FAIR is attached to decision makings. Could somebody just make some fair decisions for us? Yes, we flip a coin to have fair decisions so that we can settle on whatever issues of our interests. Creating random numbers is making fair decisions if we can. Yes, we can create so many of almost (I say almost) FAIR decisions in a very short time with a help of computers. I&#8217;ll continue this post with <strong>What kind of world, then, must these individuals (random numbers) live?</strong></p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I practiced to shorten up the <a href="http://www.nbeyond.net/about/">about</a> page for brevity.</p>
<blockquote><p><strong>nbeyond </strong>comes from my son who used to say “To infinity and beyond” copying from <a href="http://images.google.com/images?um=1&amp;tab=wi&amp;ie=UTF-8&amp;rlz=1B2GGGL_en___DE212&amp;q=buzz%20lightyear" set="yes" linkindex="4" target="_blank">Buzz Lightyear</a> <a href="http://www.pixar.com/featurefilms/ts2/" set="yes" linkindex="5" target="_blank">Toy Story 2</a>. Until I heard the words right from my boy, I have never thought this can be a nice nickname that I can use with relative uniqueness in the Internet.</p>
<p>Using this nickname, I started to feel something funny knowing that my nickname sort of influences my identity somehow in a way that I have to be something and beyond or doing something and beyond or writing something and beyond. I don’t know how <strong>nbeyond </strong>I can go with <a href="http://www.nbeyond.net//" linkindex="6">nbeyond dot net</a>. But I know I have already made half a way by just doing it.</p>
<p>Like to communicate with readers out there through <a href="http://www.nbeyond.net/transfer-your-knowledge-or-information-the-interfaces/" set="yes" linkindex="7">the interface called blog</a>.</p></blockquote>
<p>Listening &#8220;To infinity and beyond&#8221; from my boy, I have used nbeyond as a unique nickname in the Internet. Following the nickname, the blog topic will be about to-something-and-beyond hopefully with some communication with others.</p>
<p><strong>Any comment with more brevity, will you please? </strong></p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I am not a microbiologist but a modeler (definitely not a fashion model but a scientist using computers to simulate some physics happening in our life). Right now, I have this thing on my mind.</p>
<p style="text-align: center"><img src="http://www.sourcemolecular.com/_images/cryto2.jpg" height="244" width="250" /></p>
<p align="center">cordially linked from <a href="http://www.buffalowaterauthority.com/crypto.htm" target="_blank">Facts About Cryptosporidium</a></p>
<p>This tiny little living thing called <em>Cryptosporidium</em> Oocyst is invisible to bare eyes, sphere-shape, sized around 4 to 6 micro meter, and resilient to endure various stresses such as chemical treatment, filtration, and some hot sun light.</p>
<p>This oocyst is a dormant status of this microorganism until it finds a host such as humans or animals. It develops some forms to number themselves in the host causing Diarrhea, weight loss, and abdominal cramping, etc. If you are a healthy person, this can be handled just OK by your body. But, if you are a person with immune system compromised, this can be deadly.</p>
<p>In 1993, <a href="http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/eutils/escan.fcgi?db=PubMed&amp;uid=7818640&amp;dopt=Citation&amp;field=Title&amp;DateField=MeshDate" title="Cryptosporidium outbreak" target="_blank">the biggist oubreak</a> has occurred in Milwaukee, USA, infecting about 400,000 people. This is a big number. Since then, it brought many issues to drinking water utility, government, and lawyers or many others. People sued the city government. Government had to raise tax money to pay this class action lawsuit. Guess what who got rich after all? Yes, they are lawyers. So, they reached to an agreement that they need a smarter way of doing it, because at the end it&#8217;s our health threatened by this thing not getting-money-back or paying-more-tax things.</p>
<p>Anyway, my interests are to understand the influence of this little thing on groundwater quality depending on some situations. I am still at a stage to conform substantial ideas so that I can take an action, in other words, model this thing&#8217;s life.</p>
<p>I have some thought on my mind still developing, but that must be ended in a week or so, because I have a clear deadline for this. I may keep this posted.<br />

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>It has not been summer like last year until last week. Heading for Strasbourg, France for a weekend journey, my wife and I were on the road continuously heated by intensive summer sun and almost burnt. I already caught cold before the trip and didn&#8217;t feel well. Temperature was about 37 degrees by forecast. Assuming cars lined up specially along the construction area, the real temperature inside of my car with no air conditioning could easily be well over 40 degrees.</p>
<p>A stupid idea to drive around 2 pm under this weather but didn&#8217;t have alternative due to some reasons. Patience after patience. Finally got there. Didn&#8217;t feel like taking any picture on the first day. No French cuisine could cure this heated couple. In fact, badly wanted ice cold German beer could have done it better, but, ended up with French wine. I could just finish a glass of wine while my wife finished the rest of the bottle. Do not remember the name of it.</p>
<p>Cooled down a little bit by AC at the hotel and a nice overnight sleep, I could take some pictures of this beautiful city.</p>
<p align="center">

		so4735.addVariable("width", "320");
		so4735.addVariable("height", "240");
		so4735.write("ngg_slideshow4");

<p>Sadly, on the way back home, the driving condition was even worse, and this driving under one hot summer day was the closer for our weekend journey.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Since the article I wrote about <a href="http://www.nbeyond.net/stand-out-from-the-crowd-what-for/">Stand out from the crowd! What for?</a>, the article reminds me of some figures I have made before. Let&#8217;s look at the figure first.</p>
<p align="center"><div class="ngg-singlepic-wrapper"><a href="http://www.nbeyond.net/wp-content/gallery/science/averaged.jpg" title="" class="thickbox" rel="singlepic4" ><img class="ngg-singlepic" src="http://www.nbeyond.net/wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/nggshow.php?pid=4&amp;width=400&amp;height=400&amp;mode=watermark" alt="averaged.jpg" title="averaged.jpg" /></a></div>
<p align="center">A world with a small difference of individuals</p>
<p align="left">&nbsp;</p>
<p>Imagine this picture as a world that you travel. Although there is some color variance, more or less we can call blue. Let&#8217;s name this world as the blue world. The blue world has a bluish difference we have one another in this world. Here, we do our own journey. Some may call the journey as a race from the bottom line to the top line of the world. As always, there is going to be winners or losers in this race if you prefer to call it a race. This means some finish the race earlier than the others. However, in this world, the difference is small happening in the limitation of blue.</p>
<p>Now, I want you to look at a different world.</p>
<p align="center"><div class="ngg-singlepic-wrapper"><a href="http://www.nbeyond.net/wp-content/gallery/science/preferential.jpg" title="" class="thickbox" rel="singlepic3" ><img class="ngg-singlepic" src="http://www.nbeyond.net/wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/nggshow.php?pid=3&amp;width=400&amp;height=400&amp;mode=watermark" alt="preferential.jpg" title="preferential.jpg" /></a></div>
<p align="center">A world with a big difference of individuals</p>
<p>This world has a wider range of colors. People with different abilities and characteristics. Different from the first world, this world has clearly some dominant paths of journeys among the different individuals. Most people like to follow these dominant paths to finish their races or journeys effectively to save their times, in other words, to stand out from the crowd. Because people living in this world are very different, thus, there surely exists the <strong>Standing-Out</strong> effect. Depending on whatever scientific areas, this standing-out effect is called slightly different in many Jargons. No worry that these scientific jargons are not important in this article.</p>
<p>I will continue <strong>Part II of</strong> <strong>nature to stand out</strong> showing individuals in the second world with more detailed description of their journeys.<br />

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I happened to read <a href="http://www.binarymoon.co.uk/2007/07/3-reasons-why-i-suck-as-a-blogger/">one post</a> at <a href="http://www.binarymoon.co.uk">binary blog</a>, one of the nice blogs among many. To get to the point, I like that article, but, I didn&#8217;t like it very from the beginning. This turned out to be my fault.</p>
<p>Like always, the bold sub-titles in the post catch my eyes. The article was not an exception.</p>
<ol>
<li><strong>Lack of focus</strong></li>
<li><strong>Irregular posting schedule</strong></li>
<li><strong>No social aspects</strong></li>
</ol>
<p>From the bold sub-titles, this exactly sounds like ones in the major blogs. Naturally my first thought about the article without reading fully was</p>
<blockquote><p>Isn&#8217;t this another blog telling me the things that I gotta be to stand out from the crowd?</p></blockquote>
<p>In fact, I was quickly getting tired of some major blogs saying <strong>Stand Out in the name of success</strong>. Because these major bloggers are so <strong>BOLD</strong> enough to catch my attention, I saw myself keep reading post by post to be a successful blogger. But, after all, it&#8217;s all same thing called marketing.</p>
<blockquote><p><strong>Enough is enough. </strong>(Sorry, I made this sentence bold)<strong><br />
</strong></p></blockquote>
<p>Overwhelmed by so many articles in bold, I have almost forgotten that this is not my primary job and this is just started as a hobby, because I am interested. Why not let&#8217;s just walk away from them and do whatever originally I thought to be enjoyable?</p>
<p>Back to the post at binary moon, Ben was talking about our ordinary nature that most bloggers have. Unlike the three bold sub-titles, he is talking about something totally opposite but most of us have. The very reason why most bloggers started their own blogs in the Internet.</p>
<p>Frankly, I am not interested in video games, Harry Potter stuff, or others that Ben likes for his hobby or job. But at least I have something common through his article in doing blogging. Thanks a lot for reminding me and your wordpress theme, <a href="http://www.binarymoon.co.uk/2006/11/regulus-221-update/" target="_blank">regulus</a>.</p>
