Stand out from the crowd! What for? July 11, 2007
Posted by nbeyond in : Out there?, blogging, tips , trackbackI happened to read one post at binary blog, one of the nice blogs among many. To get to the point, I like that article, but, I didn’t like it very from the beginning. This turned out to be my fault.
Like always, the bold sub-titles in the post catch my eyes. The article was not an exception.
- Lack of focus
- Irregular posting schedule
- No social aspects
From the bold sub-titles, this exactly sounds like ones in the major blogs. Naturally my first thought about the article without reading fully was
Isn’t this another blog telling me the things that I gotta be to stand out from the crowd?
In fact, I was quickly getting tired of some major blogs saying Stand Out in the name of success. Because these major bloggers are so BOLD enough to catch my attention, I saw myself keep reading post by post to be a successful blogger. But, after all, it’s all same thing called marketing.
Enough is enough. (Sorry, I made this sentence bold)
Overwhelmed by so many articles in bold, I have almost forgotten that this is not my primary job and this is just started as a hobby, because I am interested. Why not let’s just walk away from them and do whatever originally I thought to be enjoyable?
Back to the post at binary moon, Ben was talking about our ordinary nature that most bloggers have. Unlike the three bold sub-titles, he is talking about something totally opposite but most of us have. The very reason why most bloggers started their own blogs in the Internet.
Frankly, I am not interested in video games, Harry Potter stuff, or others that Ben likes for his hobby or job. But at least I have something common through his article in doing blogging. Thanks a lot for reminding me and your wordpress theme, regulus.

Hi
I’m glad my post started the thought process within you. I’ve been overwhelmed by the response to this post, and am really pleased it’s got some conversation going on the site that doesn’t revolve around Harry Potter
Yes, your post acted as a trigger that helped me back to the original motivation. Thanks for dropping a comment in my blog.
